Home » Boys' Basketball NewsJV Boys win over South CallawayFebruary 6, 2013 Hallsville High Schoolfrom JV Coach Jordan Carmack Last night the JV Indians hosted the South Callaway Bulldogs. The Indians came out strong in the first quarter with pressure defense and easy baskets and were able to jump out in front by a score of 15-8 after one quarter of play. The Indians continued there strong play into the second quarter and even though they could not manage to score many points in the second they went into the half up 24-16. The third quarter the Indians were able to put some distance between them and the Bulldogs as they erupted for a 17 point quarter and were able to keep the Bulldogs in check. The final period the teams traded buckets and in the end the Indians pulled out the victory 49-37. Scoring was very well balanced this game as we had three players reach double figures led by Mason McCaleb and Evann Sells with 11 followed by Tracy Fulton with 10. The boys played hard all night and fought through what turned out to be a very physical game. They were able to execute in the end and were able to hold on to the lead in a great win for the JV. Our next contest will be Thursday as we travel to Columbia to take on Tolton High School. The JV will tip at 6 p.m. followed by the Varsity Indians.
