Family donates equipment trailer to Hallsville Band Program

January 30, 2013
Hallsville High School

Mr. Billy McKinley, his wife Joyce, and daughter Billie Jo McKinley have been searching for just the right instrument for the band for several months.  Turns out it was a much larger piece of equipment they had in mind.

The McKinley family presented the music program with a 16 foot box trailer, with signs already painted on the sides, and ready roll to the next event!

The presentation was made during first hour, morning HS band period, on Tuesday, January 29th.  The McKinleys presented "the keys" to the new vehicle to district band director, Mr. J. West as a surprise gift.

Mr. West was overwhelmed by their generosity and support for his program.  The trailer will be used by the marching and concert bands to transport their large pieces of equipment to marching events, contests, and to district and state competitions.  Their "old" trailer wasn't large enough to hold everything and a parent pickup was needed to hold the overflow.
