JV Boys pull out a win v. Centralia 49-46

January 25, 2013
Hallsville High School

from JV Coach Jordan Carmack

Last night the JV Indians hosted the Panthers of Centralia. The game started out great for the Indians in the first quarter as they forced many turnovers and got easy baskets on the offensive end of the floor. They led 14-4 after one quarter of play. The second quarter saw the Indians struggle to put the ball in the hoop and the opposite was true for Centralia as they seemed to make every shot they took however the Indians were able to weather the storm and went into the half leading 31-23.

The second half saw the Indians continue to struggle on offense and the defensive intensity was not where it needed to be. The Indians were able to execute and get some key buckets down the stretch on an ugly offensive night and in the end came out with the victory, 49-46.

On a slow night scoring we were led by Mason McCaleb and Evann Sells with 12 points apiece. The boys continued to play hard even though they were struggling on the offensive end and executed in crucial situations to come away with another great victory.

The JV Indians will now see quite a break before the next game as the Varsity competes in the Southern Boone Tournament next week. Our next game will be Tuesday, February 5th as we will be at home facing the South Callaway Bulldogs. Don't forget to come check out the Varsity Indians in action tonight at California followed by a huge game on Sunday at 2:20 at Mizzou Arena against the Southern Boone Eagles.

Thanks for the support and Go Indians!
