JV Boys win over Versailles 50-28
January 22, 2013
Hallsville High Schoolfrom JV Coach Jordan Carmack
Last night the JV Indians hosted the Tigers of Versailles and took control of the game early. The Indians raced out to a 16-4 first quarter lead and never looked back. Full court pressure defense was key in our victory as the Tigers could not keep up with our tempo. We forced many turnovers that led to easy buckets throughout the whole first half and we took a 35-11 lead into halftime. The second half saw much of the same as the Indians continued their strong defense and did not allow the Tigers many easy looks at the bucket. In the end the Indians were too much for the Tigers as they came on top 50-28.
We once again had a hot shooter on our hands last night, as it seemed like everything that left Tracy Fulton's hands found its way through the hoop and he led us in scoring with 21 points followed by Evann Sells with 12. This was another great game for our boys and we continue to see improvement in all aspects of our game.
Our next contest will be on Thursday as we host the Panthers of Centralia in a JV double header with girls set to tip at 6:00 p.m..
