January 7, 2013
Hallsville High Schoolfrom JV Coach Jordan Carmack
After a long winter break the JV Indians were back in action on Friday, traveling to Harrisburg to take on the Bulldogs. The break seemed to not slow down the Indians much as they came out strong in the first half led by aggressive defense and easy baskets. The Indians were up 31-18 going into the third quarter. The third quarter proved to be the turning point in the game as the Indians continued their unselfish play and great defense, and won the quarter 23-8. The fourth quarter both teams traded buckets and the Indians were able to come out with an impressive 61-32 victory.
Our scoring was once again very balanced as we had four player in double figures led by Taylor Vincent with 13 followed by Tracy Fulton with 11 and rounding out the double digit scorers were Evann Sells and Octavius Johnson with 10 points apiece.
This was a great game to get us back in to the swing of things now we have to get ready to take on some conference foes in the coming weeks. Our next contest is tomorrow at home as we host the Blair Oaks Falcons at 6:00 p.m. followed by the Varsity Boys.
