7th grade girls win v. Westran 30-26

Last Friday night we traveled to Clifton Hill, MO to take on the Westran Hornets. It was an exciting game that saw us lead on the scoreboard most of the night, although it was a close contest throughout as we never got more than a 2-3 point lead until the final couple of minutes where we seized control by building a 7 point lead with under a minute to play.In the end, we were able to come away with a 30-26 victory over the Hornets.

We did some good things -showing improvement in spacing the floor on offense, moving the ball with the pass and not the dribble, as well as offensive rebounding.

Defensively, we controlled rebounding throughout the night limiting Westran to one or fewer shots on most of their possessions and were effective in forcing turnovers that led to some easy points. In all, it was a good night for us and I'm very proud of the girls; they play hard and are very scrappy and that is when we are at our best as a team.

We play tonight in the North Gym following the 8th grade girls game, which starts at 6:00 pm.
