JV boys pounce on Madison Panthers W 55-27

December 4, 2012
Hallsville High School

from JV Coach Jordan Carmack

Last night the JV Indians played host to the Madison Panthers. Both teams came out strong in the first quarter trading buckets and turnovers but the Indians held the lead going into the second quarter 15-8.

The second quarter saw one of the most exciting moments of the whole game, with time running out the Indians were able to grab the loose ball off the court and Evann Sells was able to bank in a three pointer to give Hallsville all the momentum and a 30-20 halftime lead.

The Indians came out in the second half with a different look defense and forced many turnovers to go on a 16-3 run in the third quarter and lead 46-23 going into the final period. The Indians continued to widen the margin in the fourth quarter and once again we had a very good defensive second half as we only allowed 7 points. In the end the Indians were able to come away with a victory 55-27.

Our scoring was once again very well distributed as we had 8 of our 11 players score in the game. We were led in scoring by Mason McCaleb with 15 followed by Evann Sells with 10.

Our week continues on tonight with the opening round of the Centralia Tournament at 6 p.m. against Boonville. The JV will then travel to Southern Boone tomorrow to face the Moberly Spartans in the first round of the Southern Boone JV Tournament.
