MS Girls at South Callaway

October 31, 2012
Hallsville High School

from Coach Erin Snelling

The 8th grade girls traveled to Mokane last night for their first game of the season against South Callaway. The game turned out to be very exciting and intense but we were unable to come out on the right side of the score, losing 34-36. I am very excited to see what this season has in store for us! This is a great group of girls to work with!

Hannah Stephens led the team with 18 points and was 10/11 on free throws (she was actually 11/11 but one didn't count because of a lane violation) and Hannah Ricketts added 10 points.

Thank you to all of the parents and family that traveled to our game to cheer us on! We play again tomorrow evening at Auxvasse against North Callaway.

from Coach Josh Lancaster

Last night we opened our season with a trip to Mokane to take on the South Callaway Bulldogs. We came out on the wrong side of the scoreboard in a 27-8 loss. We struggled with turnovers and missed shots in the first half finding ourselves down 15-2 at halftime. We came out with a goal of winning the 2nd half and accomplished that in the 3rd quarter outscoring them 4-3, but they continued to pull away in the 4th quarter of their victory.

I saw some good things from the girls last night that we can build off of at practice today. But we have little time to prepare as we turn around again tomorrow night at home against the Madison Panthers. Tipoff of the 7th grade girls game is at 6:00 pm in the West Gym.
