Tuscumbia Fall Tournament

The Quiz Bowl team's season kicked off this last Saturday with an invitation to the Tuscumbia Fall Tournament. We took both our Varsity and JV team. Since there wasn't a JV bracket at the tournament, our JV team played against other varsity teams.

We played 5 matches in the morning and at the end of the preliminary rounds both our Varsity and JV team were 5-0. We were ranked 1st and 2nd going into the afternoon championship rounds. At the end of the championship round, both teams were still undefeated at 8-0 and played the last match of the day against each other for the championship.

At the end of the match, the two teams were tied with one last question left. The JV team answered correctly and received the championship trophy. The Varsity team, though disappointed, brought home the second place trophy.

For the day, Madeline Koenig-Schappe, Jared Lockwood, and Josh Null received individual medals for placing in the top 10 players for the tournament.
