September 14, 2012
Hallsville High Schoolfrom Coach Chris Pemberton
The Lady Indians took the trip to Ashland last night and with the cool weather we decided why not play 11 innings.
The game was tied 1-1 going into the top of the 7th. Hallsville hit a solo HR to take the 2-1 lead. In the bottom of the 7th with 2 outs Ashland answered with a solo HR of their own to tie it 2-2.
The game stayed that way until the top of the 11th. Hallsville plated 3 runs in the top of the 11th. Ashland hit a 2 run HR with 2 outs to make it 5-4. Hallsville recorded the last out and got the big conference win.
The girls battled very hard and I am proud of their efforts. Thanks to the crowd last night for the support. Our next contest is a conference match up at Blair Oaks on Monday.
from JV Coach Matt Heet
Last night the girls had their seven game winning streak snapped 4-1 at the hands of the Southern Boone Lady Eagles. The girls had a difficult time in the field and were unable to string hits together. They also seemed to be a bit exhausted from cheering the varsity on for eleven innings and being involved in the celebration.
