Home » Middle School Football News7th and 8th grade teams fall to Southern BooneSeptember 13, 2012 Hallsville High Schoolfrom Coach Josh Lancaster Last Tuesday night we traveled to Ashland to take on the rival Southern Boone Eagles. 7th Grade - We came out on the losing end of this game 8-0. Our defense played really well all night, but offensively we struggled to move the football in this game. In the 4th quarter, we put a drive together moving the ball 40 yards to the Southern Boone 25. Unfortunately we were unable to convert on 4th down ending our best scoring threat of the night. 8th Grade - This one also did not go the way we hoped with a final score of 50-8. They jumped out to a quick 12-0 lead, but after a strong defensive stop, we were able to put together a short drive on the legs of Kaylope Breuer, who broke at least 8 tackles on his way to a 25 yard touchdown run, making the score 12-8 after Kaylope also ran in the 2 pt. conversion. While the final scores aren't where we wanted them to be, we saw some good things from both our 7th and 8th grade as we head back to the practice field today. We'll be in action at home next Tuesday against the North Callaway Thunderbirds with the 8th grade kicking off at 5:30 followed by the 7th grade. Thanks for all the support we've gotten this year and hope to see you on Tuesday night! Coach Lancaster
