Home » Girls' Golf NewsHALLSVILLE'S TEAM OF 3 STARTS SEASONAugust 28, 2012 By Maribeth Frevert of Hallsville High SchoolWe've gotten two matches under our belts, and are ready to go for the season. Our first match was against Rock Bridge's JV squad at Lake of the Woods on Thursday Aug. 23. Our squad of 3 was a little overwhelmed by the quantity of RB players and fans on the course. Brittany Wise, a junior for Hallsville, shot 54, followed by freshmen Erica Shoop with 67, and Billie Jo McKinleywith 73. Rock Bridge's Catherine Howser was medalist for the match with 46, followed by Layton Evliss with 47. On Monday evening, we traveled to Centralia for a quad match with Centralia, Moberly and Harrisburg. It's so disheartening to see the course conditions the drought has brought this year. Centralia has pumped their two ponds dry in an effort to save the course, unfortunately there was no live grass in the fairways. Brittany Wise shot 58, Erica Shoop 62, and Billie Jo McKinley 77. Medalist for the evening was Nicole Marquis of Moberly with 39 on the par 35 course. Second, was Amy Thornhill of Harrisburg with 46. We're in action again on Wednesday for an all day tournament at Paris' Mark Twain Country Club course with a field of a dozen teams. We have a home match on Thursday at Lake of the Woods against Harrisburg at 4:00. Thanks for your support this season! Coach Frevert
