Home » Baseball NewsIndians win first round at DistrictsMay 15, 2012 Hallsville High Schoolfrom Coach Barry Koeneke After being rained out on Saturday for the District Tournament at Kirksville, the first round games were moved to Monday. the Hallsville Indians, playing the second game of the day, blanked Macon's Tigers, 8-0, to advance to the semifinals. The Indians will face upset winner, Moberly Spartans, an 8-6 victor over #3 seed Centralia in the third game of the day. Hallsville and Moberly square off on Wednesday at 6:30 in Kirksville with the winner advancing to the championship game on Friday. Now, back to game one of the day, the host Kirksville Tigers, a #1 seed, court-martialed the Missouri Military Academy Colonels, 28-2! Kirksville will play at 4:00 on Wednesday against the winner of the nightcap game, Bowling Green vs Mexico. Wednesday the Hallsville team will need to leave 8th period class at 2:25 to catch the 2:30 bus. And of course, all players and statisticians are to be responsible for missed class work and assignments. And as a possible heads-up to high school teachers: if the Indians win Wednesday, they would play Friday at 6:00. the team bus would have to leave at about 2:00. For details on Hallsville's game...........Luke Hartman was 4 for 4 with three singles and a double. Hartman collected three RBI, plus pitched two innings of scoreless relief. Sam German had two hits and Jesse Fudge drove in two runs. Four Hallsville pitchers combined for the shutout allowing six hits and ZERO walks!!!! Brendan Beatty pitched 4 innings, Hartman 2 innings, CJ Ashburn 2/3, and Dalton Lindsay 1/3.
