Home » Boys' Golf NewsGolf Results from Hail RidgeApril 13, 2012 Hallsville High Schoolfrom Coach Josh Lancaster Yesterday we competed in a quad match at Hail Ridge Golf Course in Boonville against the host Fayette Falcons, Harrisburg Bulldogs, and Westran Hornets. We raced against mother nature and the threat of rain, but had no problems getting the match in before the rain started to fall. We went 1 and 1 on the day with our team score of 184. It was good enough to take down Harrisburg's 195, but not enough to match Fayette's 174. Westran did not bring enough golfers to record a team score. This continues our pattern of rebounding from a mid-season slump and posting better scores and building confidence as we approach the conference and district tournaments in a week and a half. Individually, we were led by Stephen Dupre's 43, Matt Thunhorst's 45, William Pieper and Alec Atkinson's 48. Ben Dupre rounded out varsity scoring with a 49. It was a very good day as all 5 varsity golfers shot rounds below 50, the first time that has happened before in my time as golf coach. The JV had a great day, setting a new low team score for the junior varsity bringing home a 209 on the day. This bests our previous low of 216 earlier in the season. JV golfers setting new career lows were K.C. Stoddard's 48, Taylor Bobinger's 51, and Michael Culwell's 60. Zach Bequette shot a strong 50 to round out the JV scoring. Overall, we had a very good day at the course yesterday and the boys have a lot to be proud of with their performances. We've got a 3 day reprieve with no golf activities today through Sunday. Depending on what mother nature has to say about it, the varsity golfers are scheduled to be gone on Monday and Tuesday of next week competing in the Centralia Tournament on Mon, the Moberly Tournament on Tues, and then we'll have our final match of the season on Thursday against the Southern Boone Eagles.
