Boys final update - last 2 games

March 1, 2012
Hallsville High School

from Coach Michael Bennett

Last Friday the Indians hosted the South Callaway Bulldogs in the last home game of the year. With neither team gaining complete control throughout the game, the Indians found themselves tied with the Bulldogs with 10 seconds to go in the game. The boys decided they didn't want to play overtime and with 4 seconds to go Nathan Katz scored the go ahead basket that sealed the victory for the Indians. Leading scorers for this game was Michael Cox with 15 and Brendan Beatty with 14.

It was a nice victory for the team as it locked up second place for us in the MMC conference. Our conference record finished at 5-3.

On Tuesday the Indians traveled to O'Fallon to take on the Centralia Panthers in the first-round of District Play. Unfortunately for the Indians it would prove to be the last the game of the season as we lost to Centralia 59-44. Leading scorers for the game were Kyle Baker with 13 and Michael Cox with 12.

Our final record stands at 12-13. Overall, I was very pleased with the progress of this team. The team competed in every game and did some very nice things throughout the season.

I would like to thank everyone that came out and supported the boys during the season. Thank you.
