Live streaming for the two-day event will be provided by the Gymrat Insider website. Norcross High School will play host to the Invitational, with 11-teams scheduled to participate. PARTICIPATING TEAMS Norcross High School (GA) – The Blue Devils look to continue their success and again challenge for a state championship. This year’s team is led by senior Division One commitments Josiah Moore (Nebraska), Alonzo Nelson-Ododa (Richmond) and E.Victor Nickerson (Charlotte). Other key players to watch are Chris Bolden (Miami) and Rod Booker. Notable alumni include Gani Lawal (Phoenix Suns), Jodie Meeks (Philadelphia 76ers) and Al-Farouq Aminu (Los Angeles Clippers). Walton High School (GA) – The Raiders bring an exciting up-tempo brand of basketball to the court. They have been very successful recently posting 71 victories in a four-year span. This year’s team is lead by senior Karl Cochran (Wofford) and unsigned guard Lanerryl Johnson. Notable alumni include Glen Rice Jr. (Georgia Tech) and Ryan Harrow (NC State). Mill Creek High School (GA) – The Hawks are known for their tough, hard-nosed approach to the floor. They pride themselves on their defensive intensity and that has displayed itself in the win column over the past few years. This year’s team is lead by senior guards Brandon Hayman (Samford) and Ronald Warmer. Other players to watch include 6’6 junior forward Daniel Loudermilk and guard Paul Evans. Meadowcreek High School (GA) – The Mustang program has been one of the most consistent in the state of Georgia, winning an average of 22 ballgames per year since 2005. This year’s team is looking to continue that tradition behind the strong play of top underclassmen Tevin Glass and Jordan Capps and senior post Troidell Carter. A notable alumnus is guard Chris Allen (Iowa State). Milton High School (GA) – The Eagles are coming off a championship season in Georgia’s highest classification and return all five starters. They started the season as USA Today’s #1 ranked team in the nation and are led by seniors Julian Royal (Georgia Tech), Shannon Scott (Ohio State), Dai Jon Paker (Vanderbilt), and Jordan Lloyd (Furman). Other notable players include juniors Evan Nolte and Shaquille Johnson. Miller Grove High School (GA) – The Wolverines are Georgia’s back to back defending state champions at the AAAA level. This year’s squad is loaded with talent including seniors Thomas Marshall and Henry Brooks and top underclassmen Tony Parker and Brandon Morris. Notable alumni include Donte Williams (Georgia) and Mfon Udofia (Georgia Tech) Greater Atlanta Christian School (GA) – The Spartans finished last season at the AA state champions and look to challenge for the crown again this year. Seniors Malcolm Brogdon (Virginia) and Paul Dawson lead a team that also includes talented underclassmen Cole Hobbs and A.J. Davis. A notable alumnus is Trent Wiedeman (Charleston). Dr. Krop High School (FL) – The Lightening enter the Marriott Invitational as one of Florida’s top teams. They are led explosive point guard Angel Rodriquez (Kansas State) and Cody Mann. Juniors Ty Haughton and Dylan Karell look to make an impact in every game. Notable alumni include Luis Colon (Kansas State) and Javier Gonzalez (NC State). Sumter High School (SC) – The Gamecocks bring a strong South Carolina reputation with them to the Invitational. They are lead by 6’7 post Kameron Dunnican (Georgia Southern) and DJ Coleman. Keep an eye on senior David Henderson and junior Shadeed Robinson as well. Rainier Beach High School (WA) – The Vikings’ tradition is well known in Seattle and now they hope to bring their up-tempo brand of basketball to test themselves against some of Georgia’s best. They are led by Hikeem Stewart (Washington) and JoJo Stroud (Seattle). Also expected to have strong showings are Michael Middlebrooks and L.C. White. Notable alumni include Nate Robinson (Boston Celtics), Jamal Crawford (Atlanta Hawks), and Doug Christie (Sacramento Kings). Sagemont Academy (FL) – The Lions look to show why they are regarded as one of the top teams in Florida. Sagemont will rely on players like Rod Days (Central Florida), David Beneby, and Jeff Coby to set the tone on the floor. Keep an eye on Vinny DeLucia and Victor Rohlfs as well.
