Dontrell Chance Runs into GHS Football Record Book

Dontrell Chance ran and never looked back. Rockford Guilford in the 2002 and 2003 football seasons had Montell Clanton rush for over 1,000 yards in both of those seasons. In the 2004 and 2005 football seasons Rockford Guilford had Deon Williams reach over 1,000 yards in both of those seasons. In 2006 Dequan Lockhart reached over 1,000 yards in a single season. In the 2007 football season Stahvn Leavy reached over 1,000 yards. All from 2003-2007 Rockford Guilford had a 1,000 yard rusher. We haven’t seen one since 2007. Chance has been on the Varsity level since he was a sophomore in 2009 where he reached 272 yards in just 4 games. His junior year in 2010 he was rewarded 1^st Team All-Conference and had 837 yards. In his senior year he has reached 1,002 yards and the season is not even over yet. Dontrell Chance has not only brought back the reputation of what a Running Back at Rockford Guilford was known for but he has become the 3^rd best running back in Rockford Guilford Football history with already more than 2,100 yards and still running. Dontrell is a very talented and gifted Running Back and we are all hoping to see him run for more yards in their last game come Friday night against Rockford Jefferson. We congratulate Dontrell Chance for his accomplishment.
