Girls VB finish second in Greenwood Tourney

The Varsity Volleyball Team competed in the Johnson County Tournament at Greenwood High School on Thursday. 

They came in as the #2 seed and were matched up against the #3 seed, Greenwood who defeated them a little over a week ago.  Both teams came in vamped up and the lady grizzley cubs prevailed in an extremely intense and hard fought match winning in 4 games 23-25, 25-19, 25-20, 27-25.  Match notables include: Lauren Verkamp with 15 Kills, 2 aces, 19 digs, Megan Verkamp with 9 kills, 5 blocks, Alli Rice with 7 kills, 4 aces, 5 digs, Jess Admire with 13 kills, 5 blocks, Katelyn Kelly with 39 assists, 5 blocks, Danielle Rogers with 15 digs, 2 aces, and Sara VanDeman added 9 digs.

They advanced to the championship match and battled with everything they had left in the gas tank against the  #1 seed Center Grove  losing in  three games 19-25, 22-25, 22-25.  Match notables include: Jess Admire with 7 Kills, 2 aces, Lauren Verkamp with 9 kills, 6 digs, Sam Swindle with 5 blocks, Megan Verkamp with 4 kills, 4 blocks, Alli Rice with 4 kills, Sara VenDeman with 2 kills, 3 digs, Danielle Rogers with 12 digs, and Katelyn Kelly added 24 assists.

The Lady Cubs are now 16-9 overall.
