IHSAA Student-Athlete Tip of the Week (1-28-13)
January 28, 2013Franklin Community High School
"Promoting education-based athletics in Indiana."
Whether you play a team sport or individual sport, it is critical that you make the time and work out on your own to improve your individual skills.
You may have the benefit of individual instruction, but even that isn't essential to help you improve.
The responsibility falls on you. Set aside time two or three days weekly to work on the fundamentals of your sport that improve your quickness, strength, speed, power, and skill level.
Coaches will provide instruction during practice, but they also expect their athletes to work on their own to improve.
Remember, the teams and players the next door are working weekly to improve, and in order to keep up, you must do the same!
