Girls Win Season Opener v. Perry Meridian

Franklin Community High School



The Varsity played its first home match of the season and won its season
home opener for the first time in at least 3 years defeating a strong
Perry Meridian team in 4 games 25-15, 25-18, 23-25, 25-23.  The girls
stepped up and passed the ball well and made Katelyn Kelly's job a lot
easier to run the offense.  Franklin served aggressive and took Perry out
of their offense and the lady cubs made some smart plays to bring home
their first victory of the season.

Jess Admire- 20 kills, 2 aces, 17 digs
Sara VanDeman- 9 kills
Tara Parmer- 23 digs, 3 assists
Morgan Hash- 8 kills
Andrea Lock- 7 blocks
Katelyn Kelly- 42 assists, 3 aces
Danielle Rogers- 6 digs, 2 aces
 
The Junior Varsity also won their home opener against Perry 25-24, 25-19. The JV is now 1-1.
Caroline Rogers-13 assists
Lexi Hash- 7 kills and 6 digs
Shelby Smith- 5 kills and 4 aces
Hannah Hook- 12 digs
Baleigh Potter- 2 solo blocks
 
The Freshman Volleyball Team lost in 3 last night to Perry Meridian.  Scores were 22-25, 25-15, 8-15.  Standouts were Shelby Taylor with 8 digs, Tana Smythe with 11 kills, and Sarah Barnard with 15 assists.
