August 15, 2012
Franklin Community High School

The Freshman Volleyball Team kicked off their season with a win against Shelbyville High School.  Scores were 25-16, 25-24.  Standouts were Sarah Barnard with 6 setting assists and Shelby Taylor with 11 digs.

The JV Team lost their first match of the season in 2 games.  They came out aggressive in game 1 but Shelbyville was just too much winning 19-25 and then continuing in game 2 with a score of 17-25.  Game leaders include Lexi Hash with 9 kills, Shelby Smith with 5 kills, Hannah Hook with 12 digs, and Caroline Rogers with 19 setting assists.

The Varsity team had a rematch of last year's Regional Final against Shelbyville, losing in 4 games:  10-25, 22-25, 25-21, 12-25.  The Varsity came out really flat game 1, rebounded a bit in game 2, and finally took game 3.  In game 4 Shelbyville took an early lead and eventually took the match.  Game leaders include Jess Admire with 8 kills and 2 aces, Katelyn Kelly with 20 setting assists, Morgan Hash with 5 kills, Alli Rice with 4 kills, Tara Parmer with 16 digs, and Karissa Wentzell with 9 digs.

The Lady Grizzly Cubs play again on Thursday night at home against Perry Meridian.
