Boys Track - Mid-State Conference Champs!

Franklin Community High SchoolThe Franklin Boys Track and Field team won the Mid-State conference championship last evening at Greenwood. FCHS scored 155 in the 7 team meet, with Whiteland second with 97 and Greenwood with 96. In all the Grizzly Cubs captured conference championships in 8 out of 16 events. On of the biggest performances of the meet was by the 4 x 100 team who set a new conference and school record with a time of 42.86. That team was composed of Anthony Scott, James Pfifer, Jake Moran and Brian Murr. Brian Murr also had a huge individual night in winning the 100 and 200 meter dashes as well as the pole vault with a career best vault of 13 feet. Other conference champions were Simon Gamboa in the 3200 meter run, Andrew Ballay in the 300 meter hurdles, Jake Moran in the long jump and Chris Percifield in the discus. Team results are posted on the fieldhouse windows and the trophy is on display in the athletic office.
The Grizzly Cubs are next in action Friday when they travel to Greenfield for a 9 team invitational.
