JV wins 14-9 v. Martinsville

Last night the Junior Varsity Baseball team traveled to Martinsville to take on the Artesians and came away with a 14-9 victory.  After a slow start, the offense started to click in the 4th inning.  For the 3rd straight game, the offense put the ball in play and good things happened.  9 Grizzly Cubs got in the hit column and Tony Mathews continued his 6 game hitting streak.  The highlight of the evening, however, was a triple play turned by the Grizzly Cub defense.  Ryan Torrance made a diving catch before throwing the ball to the infield to complete the triple play.  Evan Dudley got the win on the mound as the Grizzly Cubs improve to 6-3 on the year and 5-2 in conference.  The Grizzly Cubs will next be in action tonight with a start time of 5:30 on the FCHS Junior Varsity field.
