Varsity defeats Mooresville in 2nd round

The varsity baseball team defeated Mooresville at Mooresville last evening in a Mid-State battle.  The final score was 8-4.  Jeremy McKinney got the win on the mound, evening his record to 2-2.  Jeremiah Johnson relieved McKinney in the 4th and held the Pioneers scoreless for the remainder of the game.  Donnie Waters started the scoring with a 2 out, bases loaded double in the 3rd inning that scored 3 runs.  Keenan wood contributed 2 hits, 2 stolen bases, and 1 RBI in the effort. 
 
The Grizzly Cubs will play host to Greenwood High School on Saturday for a Mid-State doubleheader.  The first game starts at 10:00 AM.
 
Overall recrod: 3-7
Conference record: 3-1
