Griffin Grasshoppers Players Continues To Showcase Their Skills In Georgia High School Association

Last year, Jordan Faciene 6'4 220lbs PG from Morrow High School, was a Griffin Grasshoppers player known as a "Super Sleeper" in his senior class. Prior to the GHSA 2011 season, he wasn't on any major recruiting services scouting report as a potential prospect for college basketball. Yet, this Grasshopper continued to work hard regardless of the lack of publications. Before each high school game he played, he recalls what Coach "Duck" Richards told him before he played his final AAU Big Shots Tournament in Myrtle Beach, SC "When you hit the court, go out there and compete as if you are the best player on the floor and eventually they will know who you are because of your HARD WORK." Faciane did just that and hit the GHSA by storm. As a result, he was voted as team MVP, team leading scorer 19.5 ppg, 1st Team All-Area, 1st Team All-County, 1st Team All-Region, 1st Team All-State, and Nominated as Clayton County Player of the Year. Not bad for a kid that wasn't ever considered as a prospect proir to the start of his senior year. Faciane signed a Division-1 scholarship to Campbell University.

Now the deck has been re-shuffled and a new set of players are awaiting to complete their senior season. Who will the next Jordan Faciane be? Which one of the 2013 Grasshoppers will work the hardest for their high school team and appear from being under the radar? Only time will tell. The Class of 2013 Griffin Grasshoppers players will be competing against one another at various different local high schools. One of the most noteable player to watch is Jairus "JR" Holder 6'7 175lbs who has committed to Jacksonville University on a Division-1 scholarship. Other players to watch are:

Jairus "JR" Holder, Guard, 6'7 175lbs Mt Zion High School

Dante Ottley, Center, 6'8 255lbs MLK High School

Kristopher Bell, Forward, 6'8 235lbs Morrow High School

Oh by the way, the Griffin Grasshoppers underclassmen should have a bright future. Many of the 20114 and 2015 players are doing exceedingly well on the varsity squad. Keep an eye on these young tulips while the grass is still growing around them. Underated underclassmen from Griffin Grasshoppers are:
