Greenwood wins Region 4 Volleyball Tournament

Greenwood won its fourth consecutive Region 4 Volleyball Tournament October 18, beating Bowling Green 20-25, 25-23, 12-25, 25-11, 15-7 at Metcalfe County High School. In beating Bowling Green for the fourth time this season, Greenwood ran its winning streak against District 14 opponents to 100 matches. The Lady Gators, 2011 state runners-up in volleyball, improved to 20-19 on the season. Greenwood will play 15th Region champion Allen Central, 32-5, October 26 at 2:30 p.m. Eastern time in the opening round of the state tournament at Louisville’s Valley High School. Greenwood advances to the state tournament for the eighth time in nine years.
