Home » Boys' Soccer NewsGreenwood's Greer earns academic honorFebruary 10, 2012 By Don Sergent of Greenwood High SchoolGreenwood High School senior John Greer is one of only 17 soccer players from throughout the Southern states to be selected to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Boys’ High School Scholar All-South Team for the 2011 season. To be nominated for this honor, a player must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.75 or better (on a 4.0 scale), must have demonstrated excellence in soccer at the high school level and must have performed service in his or her community. Greer has maintained a 4.0 grade point average and was a second team All-State player for the regional-champion Greenwood soccer team. He regularly volunteers for Special Olympics. ![]()
