Tipton takes 3rd from Green Ridge in Conference

The third-seeded Tipton Cardinals outscored the Green Ridge Tigers 17-6 in the third quarter Saturday night to win the third-place game of the W-K Kaysinger Conference boys basketball tournament 69-55 at the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center. Green Ridge, the fourth seed, led 16-14 after one quarter and 30-29 at halftime. Wade Woods scored a game-high 22 points for the 16-7 Cardinals. Ethan Koechner added 19 and Travis Edwards had 10. Austin Story paced Green Ridge (14-8) with 21 points, and Axton Harding had 14.
