Green Ridge sweeps Montrose

Both the Green Ridge Lady Tigers and Tiger boys swept Montrose in non-conference action Tuesday night at Montrose.

The Lady Tigers defeated state-ranked Montrose 41-25 and the Tiger boys rolled to a 65-46 win over the Blue Jays.

The Montrose Lady Blue Jys had not lost a regular-season game since 2009.

Libby Dove led the Lady Tigers with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Clare Chamberlin added 13 points, six rebounds and three assists. Hali Niceswanger had seven points with a trey, pulled down 10 rebounds, dished out six assists and made one steal. BreAnna Peck made eight steals and Dove four.

The Tiger boys led Montrose 12-8 at the end of the first quarter, 35-18 at the half and 47-35 after three quarters.

Axton Harding led Green Ridge with 20 points and eight rebounds. Conner Dillon had 14, Austin Story 10 points, 11 rebounds, six blocked shots, five steals and six assists. Hunter Niceswander scored eight.
