Barrow Named Athlete of the Week

By Kasey Turnage

Senior Chandler Barrow has been chosen as Greene Central’s Athlete of the week for the first week in February.

He was chosen by the varsity baseball coach Scott Jones for his hard work.

Barrow is currently enrolled in Nursing Fundamentals, Accounting, and Advanced Physical Education. He is also in the Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) Club.

Barrow has played baseball for fourteen years. He plays center field and is a pitcher.

“I put a lot of hard work into baseball, and I play to the best of my abilities. I try to encourage my teammates to give 100% every day,” said Barrow.

“Chandler works hard each and every day, hustles, and is a great leader by example for our other players,” said Jones.

“Chandler always has a great attitude on and off the field. He has a good work ethic, and always hustles,” said teammate Hunter Murphy.

In his free time, Barrow likes to fish and hunt if he’s not playing baseball.

“Baseball is my favorite sport. It’s challenging, and that’s what makes it fun,” Barrow said.

After high school, Barrow plans to go to Pitt Community College to major in Nursing and plans to become a Physician’s Assistant.

He is the son of Roxanne Langston and Sammy Barrow of Shine.
