Home » General NewsPotter Named Student of the WeekFebruary 7, 2013 By Donald Clark of Greene Central High School Potter Named Student of the Week By Harrison Welch Freshman Hannah Potter has been named Greene Central’s Student of the Week for the fourth week in January. Potter is currently enrolled in Honors English 9, Advanced Placement Macroeconomics, Varsity Singers, and Health and Physical Education. She identifies Varsity Singers as her favorite class. “I like Varsity Singers because I really like music and can relate to it very well,” said Potter. Potter is also a member of the Robotics club and sings in the Ramblers. “Hannah is one of the most spirited students that I have ever had the pleasure of teaching! Her positive outlook on life is positively infectious! She works incredibly hard and is incredibly talented,” said Varsity Singers teacher and Ramblers director Luke Hancock. Her love for singing also takes up her free time along with theater. "Hannah is a very bright young lady with an outstanding work ethic. She has made a very smooth transition to AP despite being in the ninth grade. She comes to class every day to learn. She treats others with respect. She seems to enjoy every moment of her life,” said AP Macroeconomics teacher Donald Clark. “Middle school and high school are different because middle school is a lot more simple. In high school, you have more freedom, but it is much more complicated,” said Potter. Potter is the daughter of Michael Potter of Walstonburg and Sarah Curtis of Asheville.
