Football » Great American Rivalry Series Presents: Poly vs. Tech
Baltimore Poly vs Baltimore Tech (MD) is the oldest continual rivalry in Maryland, going all the way back to 1889, with Poly leading narrowly in overall wins 61-55-6. The game was normally played on Thanksgiving, but was changed in the 70's due to the insertion of playoffs. The game is played at M&T Bank Stadium (home of the Baltimore Ravens) and draws up to 20,000 every year. Antonio Freeman (NFL) and Mike Pitts (NFL) both were part of this historic rivalry for Poly, as well as John Sykes, Tom Gatewood, and
Bryant Johnson (all NFL) for City. This game has been called "Poly vs City," and each team measures their season's success largely on the outcome of this game.
