Great American Rivalry Series Presents: Mission Viejo vs. De LaSalle
Mission Viejo vs DeLaSalle is not the most traditional rivalry in the bunch, but rather pits two of the best football programs in California with an outcome that is destined to have playoff implications. They have met four times (from 2004-2007) and split the series 2-2. They haven't played since, as both schools' schedules vary year-to-year due to the demand that programs across the nation have to put these two on their schedule. DeLaSalle has a record of 67-5 since 2008 with 4 state titles and 5 section titles, only 11 losses (two to MVHS) since 2004, and has produced NFL players such as T. J. Ward, Maurice Jones-Drew, Amani Toomer, Kevin Simon, and Matt Gutierrez. Mission Viejo is 56-8 since 2008, only 16 losses (two to DLS) since 2004, and has produced players such as Mark Sanchez, Nick Reed, Drew Radovich, and Collin Ashton.
