The Good Counsel Falcons came into the game with a #10 USA Today nationally ranking and expecting to win the game. However the Cadets of St John’s had a different idea and by halftime had shocked the Falcons by holding the lead 14-12.
The running of MVP Wes Brown inspired the Falcons to return to their game the second half. Brown ran for 183 yds and 20 carries to lead the team in the second half.
A 3rd quarter goal line stand by the Falcon defense that turned back the Cadets was the turning point of the game, as the Falcons went on to put the game away 28-14.
