2010 Hall of Fame: Steve Gandy and Ray Pickering

From Wayne County: Steve Gandy

Steve played in this rivalry during his junior and senior years. He was a hard-hitting linebacker for the War Eagles and led Wayne County to a South State Championship win over West Jones during the 2003 season. He was the leading tackler in that game and is honored for his efforts in securing that victory and many others.


From West Jones: Ray Pickering

Ray played in the West Jones-Wayne County rivalry his sophomore, junior, and senior years. He started for the Mustangs as a freshman. In 2003, Ray recorded 10 tackles and a fumble recovery to secure a win over the War Eagles. He also compiled the most all-purpose yards in the Rivalry for the Mustangs, generating over 500 yards. Ray went on to play football and baseball at JCJC and later played Division 1 baseball at Alabama State.  In 2009, he returned to his alma mater as a football and baseball coach.
