St. Rita shuts down Mt. Carmel 35-14

With the score tied at 7-7 in the 1st quarter, St. Rita forced a turnover and capitalized with a 9-yard, 3-play drive to make the score 14-7 in favor of the Mustangs.


The Mt. Carmel Caravan answered with a long drive of their own, trying the score at 14-14 with 4:27 left in the 2nd quarter. St. Rita didn't take long to respond, rushing for another touchdown then scoring again on a 55-yard punt return as the clock expired, making the score 28-14 going into the second half.


After a scoreless 3rd quarter, Ricky Johnson struck again, scoring a touchdown on a 78-yard punt return. Final score: 35-14 St. Rita.
