PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Wooden Horse Trophy is up for grabs when the Central Lancers square off against the Northeast Vikings in the annual “Wooden Horse Game” on Thursday at 10 a.m. (EST) at Charlie Martin Memorial Stadium. The game is part of the 2013 Great American Rivalry Series presented by the U.S. Marine Corps and Hibbett Sports.

The Northeast-Central rivalry is considered Philadelphia’s most recognized Thanksgiving football tradition with the first game being played in 1892. Northeast beat Central 14-12 last season for its eighth straight win in the all-time series, which Northeast leads 56-51-9.

The Lancers, coached by Rich Drayton, is 6-5 after its fourth straight win, 36-6 over Prep Charter nearly three weeks ago. They went 6-5 last season.

The Phil Gormley-coached Vikings went 7-5 last season and are 5-6 this season after beating Delaware Valley Charter 12-0 nearly three weeks ago.
