HARRISBURG, PA -- Another Bishop McDevitt-Harrisburg game. Another Bishop McDevitt win.
The Bishop McDevitt Crusaders won their sixth straight over the Harrisburg Cougars on Friday night, 35-14, in front of over 10,000 fans at McDevitt's brand-new Rocco Ortenzio Stadium. The game was part of the 2013 Great American Rivalry Series presented by the U.S. Marine Corps and Hibbett Sports.
The Crusaders, who lost just one game last season, won last season's meeting 21-20 after a missed extra point late in the game. They hold a 20-14 all-time lead in the series.
McDevitt junior back Andre Robinson -- who is getting offers from the likes of Virginia Tech, Maryland and Penn State -- was named the Great American Rivalry Series Most Valuable Player after running for 129 yards and four TDs. He had scoring runs of 17, 28, 36 and 2 yards.
Junior quarterback Nick Marsilio threw for 171 yards -- 160 in the first half -- and had a 27-yard TD pass to sophomore Bryce Hall that gave the Crusaders a 19-14 lead at halftime.
Senior back Darian Davis Ray finished with 108 yards, including a 65-yard TD run on the Cougars' first play.
Senior back Robert Martin, a Rutgers recruit, had 43 yards and a TD for Harrisburg before a knee injury knocked him out of the game in the third quarter. He ran for 1,800 yards and 18 TDs last season.
McDevitt (1-0) hosts Central Dauphin next Friday night, while Harrisburg (0-1) hosts Wilson on Saturday.
