Dover outscores New Philadelphia 35-7

Tucked in the Rolling Hills of Ohio are two towns divided by more than a river. The teams are divided by their historic football rivalry and outstanding marching band performances. The Great American Rivalry Series is not only about high school football but it is also about the competitive rivalry between the teams. These teams, Dover and New Philadelphia, compete for the best stadium as well as marching band bragging rights. The question of who had the first marching band in the state of Ohio is still up for debate.

It wasn't your typical October night in northern Ohio, as it was uncharacteristically warm. The energy from the fans was contagious; it seemed that everyone in the community came out to cheer their team to a victory. Unfortunately for New Philadelphia fans, it wasn't time for their team to end the losing streak to their cross-town rivalry. Immediately after kick-off, it was obvious that Dover was out to send a message to their opponent by delivering heart pounding hit after hit, outscoring their opponents 35-7. Dover's Marcus Marnarella was named MVP of the game.
