The Mustangs surprised the home team when they threatened to score on a pass from Quarterback Nathan Perry to Cole Breeland on 3rd and goal in the first quarter. After the pass fell incomplete, Trabuco Hills settled for a field goal for the first score of the game. Trabuco Hills would extend their lead to 5-0 on a safety forced by defensive lineman Spencer Herson. Mission Viejo took a 7-5 lead on a pass from quarterback Ian Fieber to Sean Modster that would be the final score of the first half. The second half was all Diablos. Looking like the heavy favorite they were coming into game, the Diablos scored two touchdowns each in the 3rd and 4th quarters. Redfield patrolled the defensive backfield for Mission Viejo disrupting both Trabuco Hills’ pass attack and running game.
