It was a defensive battle early as Central Cambria started the game with a big interception. Bishop Carroll kept strong though, forcing a turn over on downs the following possession. Both teams continued trading possession through the first quarter. Central Cambria came out in the 2nd quarter putting the first points on the board with a 26-yard run by senior Zach Mazzarella making the score 7-0 with 11:43 to play in the half. Bishop Carroll answered with a fumble recovery returned for a touchdown by junior Brody Shuty, making the score 7-6. Central Cambria lost another fumble before half but the defense held strong making the score 7-6 central Cambria going into halftime. Both teams came out pumped up for the second half and the defense stayed strong keeping the score tight until senior Tyler Gironda for the Red Devils scored a touchdown on a 5-yard rush to close out the quarter making the score 13-6 going into the 4th. Bishop Carroll fought all they could to get another score before the game ended but they just couldn't seem to capitalize on any possessions. The game ended with the final score being central Cambria 26-6 after a rushing TD by the sophomore Will Seymour and a late 21-yard touchdown through the air brought the game to a close. The Red Devils avenged last year's 27-17 loss to the Huskies. Our Great American Rivalry Series MVP for the game was RB/LB #43 Zach Mazzarella of Central Cambria.
