Home » Hall of Fame News2012 Hall of Fame: Dan Larlham and Bill SparhawkSeptember 4, 2012 Great American Rivalry SeriesFrom Walsh Jesuit High School- Dan Larlham Dan played in 3 Walsh Jesuit/St Vincent St Mary's rivalry contest and helped secure victories in all 3. He was Captain of the '98 team. After graduatin, Dan spent a year on football scholarship at Michigan State before transferring to Baldwin College. At Baldwin he started for 4 years and playe din all 42 games. He accounted for 101 touchdowns in his career there. After his college career he returned to Walsh Jesuit where he currently coaches as the Defensive Coordinator and is the Dean of Students From St Vincent St Mary- Bill Sparhawk Bill is honored to have played for the Irish in the first ever matchup between St. V-M and Walsh Jesuit in 1969. The game was played right here at Green Street Stadium. Bill played in that game as a junior and started at the left offensive tackle position. Both ST. V-M and Walsh were excellant teams that year. The Irish were led by coaches John Cistone and Fred Malligio. The top players were TB Warren Sharpe and Offensive Tackle Dan Boarman. Walsh was led that year by coach Bill Ricco and quarterback Greg Koss and offensive guard Richie Kase. The stadium was packed by 7PM for a 8PM kickoff. The Fighting Irish won the game 26-9 in a classic high school football contest. After graduating, Bill attended Indiana University in 1973 along with Irish head coach Dan Boarman. After graduating from Indiana, Bill taught and coached football in Scottsburg, IN. After that, he returned to Akron to work locally in the Polymer Industry for the past 30 years.
