Home » Men's Basketball NewsSenior Night Ends In UK Beat downMarch 2, 2012 By Bryce Stephens of George Rogers Clark High SchoolFor seniors Eloy Vargas and Darius Miller, last night became a rout as the Wildcats showed the Bulldogs who is man’s better friend. Even though Vargas, in his first start of the season, finished with five rebounds and only two points, he played possessed. He gave Terrence Jones a break and kept him fresh for the whole game. For his last game at Rupp Arena, Miller hit five three-pointers and led the team with 17. Kyle Wiltjer, Doron Lamb, Anthony Davis, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Jones, and Marquis Teague all helped the Cats dominate Georgia and made Senior Night even more memorable. With a well-rounded offense, UK kept UGA off balance and that showed when Mark Fox (Georgia’s head coach) played 14 of his players, trying to find someone who could compete with the length, accuracy and flat-out talent the Wildcats had. The 79-49 win in Lexington shows that there isn’t a team (besides Vanderbilt) that can play UK and have a chance to beat them in the SEC. I’m ready for tournament time.
