Girls Roll, Boys Lose Heartbreaker

Wake Forest. UNC. Cedar Ridge. In a night of last second shots, Cedar Ridge added their name to the list.
Graham ran the gamut of emotions tonight, as visiting Cedar Ridge managed to pull a rabbit out ot the hat as Tyler Raynor bulled through three Graham defenders to hit a last-second shot to lead the Red Wolves over Graham 85-83 in overtime.
Graham struggled the entire game, as Cedar Ridge built a 16 point lead heading into the final period of play. Cedar Ridge was smoking hot the 3rd quarter, connecting on 10 of 11 shots to take a 61-47 lead to begin the 4th quarter.
Graham turned the tables in the 4th quarter, gunning 9 of their 11 shots and outscoring Cedar Riddge 25-11 to force overtime. Blake Throneburg hit a running jumper as time ran out in the fourth to force overtime. Costly turnovers allowed the Red Wolves to grab a 83-80 lead in the final 30 seconds. Graham's Marquise Richmond connected on a three point shot with less than 6 seconds remaining to tie the game at 83-83. Cedar Ridge quickly threw the ball inbounds and Raynor bulled through three Graham defenders as his off balance shot fell through the nets and the Red Wolves celebrated their stunning victory.
Cedar Ridge's Kendall Edwards topped all scorers with 27 points. He connected on 14 of 19 free throws, including 4 for 4 in the crucial overtime stanza. Josh Pappas added 13 while Tyler Raynor had 11. Raynor scored 6 of his 11 in overtime.
Marquise Richmond led Graham with 20 points, 5 rebounds, 4 steals, and 2 blocks. Justin Cousin added 18, while Nolan Solis had 11. Blake Throneburg added 10 points and 8 rebounds. Graham dropped to 10-7, 8-4 in the Mid-State 2-A.
The girls jumped out of the starting blocks and never looked back. Graham won 60-37 tonight to push their record to 16-1, 12-0 in the Mid-State 2-A conference.
For the 2nd consecutive game, Graham's defense worked overtime. Graham held Cedar Ridge to 25% shooting tonight, as the Red Wolves could only connect on 15 of their 60 shots.
Sarah Beal was the lone Red Wolf in double figures, as she connected for 16 points.
Beth Miller led Graham with 20 points, 11 assists, and 4 rebounds. Courdne Miles added 10 points and 11 rebounds, as well as 4 blocked shots. Logan Apple had 8 points. Caroline Enoch had 6 points and 7 rebounds.
Graham's JV boys won their 2nd game in a row, 69-49.
