Dodson McPherson Grabs Another Award

By Denis Vass of Graham High School Former Graham baseball standout Dodson McPherson grabbed yet another honor in what has become an outstanding season of baseball. McPherson was honored as the South Atlantic Conference Player of the Year for the 2011 season.
McPherson led the conference with 15 home runs and 72 RBIs this season. He also led the conference in slugging percentage (.745), runs scored (60) and triples (5), and was second in batting average (.412) and total bases (152).
For Wingate, he was tops in batting average (.412), slugging percentage (.745), on base percentage (.479), runs scored (60), hits (84), runs batted in (72), triples (5), home runs (15), stolen base percenatge (1.000), double plays ground into (6), games playes and games started (50, tied with 3 other players), second on the team in total bases (152), walks (25), stolen bases (4), steal atrtempts (4), total plate apperances (236), at-bats (204, tied with one player), was tied for fourth in doubles (13), and was third on the team in fielding percentages (.991-103 put outs, 3 assists, and one error)
