Red Devils Blast Bucs

The Graham varsity teams blasted Bartlett Yancey last night, the girls winning in a romp 62-15, while the boys fought off a scrappy Buccanneer team 72-54.
Jeramy Williams tallied 14 points and 13 rebounds for the Red Devils, while Trent Torain added 13 points. Kendall Patterson scored 11 and dished out 6 asists.
Graham was aided by an 11-0 run to begin the third period, to extend their lead to 28 points. Graham's coach Williams emptied his bench and allowed the entire team to participate in the game.
The Red Devils improve to 13-4, 4-1 in the Mid-State 2A Cinference. Bartlett Yancey falls to 1-14, 0-6. Seth Hancock let the Buccaneers with 19 points.
The Lady Devils blitzed to an 18-0 lead, ambushing the Lady Bucs in every phase, running away to a 37-4 halftime lead. Graham moves to 10-7, while remaining unbeaten in conference play at 5-0.
Kay Kay Wilson and Jasmin Atkins tallied 16 points each, while Deja Cousin added 11.
The JV boys lost their fourth consecutive heartbreaker, 53-52. Graham was up 6 with 2 minutes to go, but the Buccaneers pulled out the upset with a 3 ppoint play with 11 seconds to play. Brent Baldwin led Graham with 16, while Khalil COle added 9.
Graham travels to Ramseur tonight to take on the Wildcats of Eastern Randolph.
