The Scotland County Football Tigers saw their season come to a close in the first round of Missouri Class 1A state playoffs with a 45-0 loss to the Marceline Tigers. SC turned the ball over on their first two possessions, aiding Marceline to an early 14-0 leaad in the first five minutes of the game. Marceline scored twice more, leading 28-0 at the conclusion of the first quarter. The Tigers never recovered. "Marceline took it to us. We knew that we had to control the ball if we wanted to be in this game. That didn't happen," Brent Bonduarnt stated.
The Tigers finish the season at 6-5, 3-4 in conference play, and 2-1 in District 12 play.
"I am very proud of our players. They gave us all they had, and never quit. I admire that. I am especially proud of our seniors; Kyle Shelley, Brandon Garnett, Justin Winn, Jordan Fulk, and Cody Taft. They have been a great example for under classmen. These guys could have quit at any point over the last four years, but they didn't. I am happy for them to reap the benefits of all their hard work. Their leadership and athletic talent will be hard to replace next season. I wish them all the best of luck in their future endevours."
