Home » Men's Basketball NewsSFCCs Ojo makes college choiceOctober 24, 2012 STATE FAIR COMMUNITY COLLEGESophomore forward Ayo Ojo plans to attend the University of Idaho, a Division I school in Moscow, Idaho, next year.
"I felt like it was a good place for me," said Ojo. "I feel like I can fit in very well with the program and the team."
Ojo averaged 6.8 points per contest as a freshman at SFCC. He was the team's second leading rebounder, pulling down 5.5 rebounds per contest. The Jonesboro, Ark., native shot a team-high 49.2 percent from the field last season.
"He has come a long way in the classroom and works extremely hard on the floor," said Roadrunners Head Coach Kevin Thomas. "He continues to grow and mature as a young man. We look forward to him having a great year. We really need him to anchor us inside.
"Physically I think he’ll be able to step in right away and play. As his skill set continues to develop, I think he’ll improve more and more. I saw Ayo as a junior in high school and every year he’s gotten better. I expect the same at the next level."
Ojo said his favorite moment as a Roadrunner has been SFCC’s victory over the nationally ranked Hutchinson Community College Blue Dragons in Hutchinson, Kan. ![]()
