County Sports Hall of Fame selects 30 finalists for class of 2010

Induction ceremony will be held April 28

CULLMAN - The Cullman County Sports Hall of Fame recently named 30 finalists for its Class of 2010.

A final group of 11 inductees will be announced in January, with three members coming from Cullman and St. Bernard, and one each from Cold Springs, Holly Pond, Fairview, Good Hope, Vinemont and West Point.

The Class of 2010 will be inducted April 28 at Cullman Civic Center. Tickets, which cost $20, will go on sale March 15.

The 30 finalists for the Class of 2010 are, from Cullman and St. Bernard: Joe Brindley, Donna Bryant, Porter Callahan, Tyson Campbell, Joe Franey and Earnie Reddick.

From West Point: Darrell Brock, Steve Woodard and Bobby Wright. From Holly Pond: Vickie Akers, Lynn Jackson and Cecil Pruett. From Fairview: Wayne Manord, Debra Pattillo and Darrell Randolph. From Hanceville: Joe Abercrombie, Fred Bussey, Joe L. Davis and Danny Day.

From Cold Springs: Jack Collins, W.F. Davis and Mark Freeman. From Good Hope: William Calvert and Fred Quattlebaum. From Vinemont: Alvis Connell and Frank Gingrich.

At-large candidates: Ann Hendon, Donald Wilbanks, Billy Coleman and Clyde Morris.
