New Season, Same Goal!

On Wednesday, the Lady Raiders will officially kick off their 2013 softball campaign as the girls travel to Priceville to take on the Bulldogs. After posting a mind-boggling 43 wins and a trip to the state finals last year, the easiest question to ask just might be: can they do it again? 

A close examination of all areas of the team just might hold the answer. The team will return all but 2 starters to this years squad. A couple of new faces will hit the dirt for the first time wearing the red and white. The most familiar faces remain the cornerstones of the team. All-American Cara Goodwin will once again be in the circle, All-State player Alannah Henke will be back as well. All-State caliber performers Kayla Tillman and Darcie Wilson will again fortify the roster along with other very experienced players. The buzz this year has to surround new faces like Savannah Fendley. What can she bring to the table? The senior had a solid basketball season and looks to add some punch to the Lady Raiders already potent line-up. Will younger pitching step-up to help out Goodwin in the circle? Younger players are in line to do just that. From top to bottom, this years roster is as talented as they have ever had at Good Hope.
